Very recently the Honorable Supreme Court of India has given a remarkable judgment by making dowry related and domestic violence laws applicable even prior to marriage i.e. when marriage talks are on. Seemingly the judgment may seem anti - men as now any woman can simply make a claim that the man demanded dowry and get the man and his family arrested adding further to the already misused dowry laws of India.

However, a closer look and proper analysis reveals otherwise. Men, by design of nature, are straight thinking, result oriented and more inclined towards logic. In fact, there is also a saying about women, "One should not expect a woman to be logical and reasonable at all times". Strangely enough it is accepted as well. Can such a thing be ever said and accepted for men? NO, NEVER. And there lies the glitch. Save Indian Family Foundation, an NGO dedicated to promote the cause of Gender Equality and Family Harmony has been creating awareness about the misuse of dowry laws and infringement of men's rights in such false cases of dowry harassment lodged against them by their estranged wives. Surprisingly enough, its more women who have understood the message and felt the need for reforms rather than men, who keep justifying and defending the wrong gender biased dowry laws.

Men, as logical as they are, think,

1. Why will my wife file a case against me if I do not take / demand dowry (as if all those men currently implicated were greedy bastards)?
2. Why will my wife implicate me in false cases, if I take very good care of her (as if all those currently facing the abuse were careless, irresponsible fellows and deserved the treatment meted out)?
3. How can the police register a false complaint against me (as if the police actually investigate such cases and file proper reports)?
4. How can the judge send me to jail without verifying the facts (as if the judges study each and every word written before sending someone to jail)?

And so on and so forth unless either or all of the above fails and the man is implicated in a false dowry harassment case, terrorized, traumatized, his family members devastated, treated as a FREE ATM MACHINE and he is looted of his hard-earned money, rather the money is extorted from him, is when he realizes how illogical, imbalanced, insensitive and irrational is the world around him.

Similarly, this judgment though sounds irrational is the call of the day so that more and more men face such abusive cases and a mass arises that overturns the biased, stereotypic and blind society that's completely and totally oblivious to Men's Rights and Women's Vices.

It's like a reverse osmosis for men wherein ultimately they emerge pure and filtered, ready to fight for themselves like a commando.

Many men even today, are so deep in the utopian land, that they can't even imagine being implicated and jailed under completely false dowry cases, thinking that they've never asked or taken any dowry...
