Most of the countries have no laws to protect specifically men and also men do not enjoy any special status like women. And when confronted, the answer received is that, "It is a man's world". Being a men's rights activist, this is nothing new to me as I encounter such situations on a daily and an ongoing basis. Any other ordinary man (one who is not a men's rights activist) would buy off the argument, that it being a man's world and would continue to live in a world of denial. But as a men's rights activist I am driven to think more on it, before buying an eye washing argument. First question that arises is that in wake of the mere fact that there is no special law to protect men like there are for women, casts reasonable doubt on the gravity of the authenticity of the statement, "It is a man's world" and its relevance in today's time and its proximity to truth. Without further going into the debate about the authenticity, relevance et al of the statement, I will proceed with the discussion at hand. It is a fact that there are more men at the top, more male politicians, more male bureaucrats, more male judges, more male entrepreneurs, more males in top financial corporate circles, in short, more males at all the top and visible power centers. And let me admit, it is neither easy to reach there, nor stay there. Hence when there are more men there, it certainly looks like a man's world, of course we are ignoring the bottom where more men die, more men commit suicide, more men get arrested, more men undertake risky jobs, more men do laborious jobs, more men lose their jobs, et al. And since there is a false perception of a MAN's WORLD, the men at the top think there is no need to protect men. Of course my arguments in Women Are Wonderful, would also hold good as to why these men at top are unable to understand a man's pain and address it. But more than that, when power centers are involved, emotional dynamics and behavioral patterns take a backseat and it's the power tussle that takes centre stage. Men at top well knew that in order to preserve their power centers they will have to resist women from entering there since that would threaten them and increase competition since it is always easy to be ruthless on your own gender. And so, in order to pacify the women, they kept on passing one after another anti-men law in the name of Women Protection and allowed the misuse of those laws as well to grow. Moreover, they never passed a single law to protect men since that would mean end to misuse of women protection laws and this would lead to further endangering of their position, something they could never afford to lose. Their power hunger did not end here. They went on to pass multiple laws for the same cause of action and thus led to total entrapment of men coupled with the statement that, "It is a man's world" leading to invalidation of men's problems and justification of their sufferings and thus depriving them of a proper communication channel. This Pandora's box of troubles (instantiated in marriage for men), has led to more and more men committing suicides, many more resorting to crime and now activism is the latest trend amongst men wronged against. The root cause of this Men's Struggle is due to the Power Tussle at the top.
