Ever since I'd written the article Women are Wonderful, I'd wanted to write its conjugate as well. And thus, today I'm writing on it, though the thought processes behind the two are entirely different. Women are Wonderful refers to why women get and connect better to audience. Men are Marvelous is actually opposite, wherein men despite not getting audience carry on in life and continue to live under the illusion that it is a man's world. Men have undertaken some of the most laborious, risky and difficult jobs till date and have donned the role of the Protector and the Provider and have done it very effectively till date be it as the Man of the home or a soldier at the border or being instrumental in making some relevant social and technological contributions. Some of the most useful inventions and researches have been done by men till date as described in Contributions by Men and these inventions and researches were never easy. Many men have ruined their entire lives in getting these wonderful inventions which are propelling all the technological progress in the world which has given rise to the material comforts we enjoy today. But, the foundation was laid by these men, who sacrificed their own lives and families for the sake of humankind. Men make the most of sacrifices as unsung heroes and in a manner completely oblivious to the society at large and mostly even men themselves. Some of the unsung sacrifices made by men have been enlisted here. Even while listing researches and inventions, I have listed only the successful and known inventions, there are many men who laid down their entire lives researching but never got any fame or recognition because the design of our society refuses to recognize the efforts of an unsuccessful man. Man must be successful to deserve even basic respect. Men face a plethora of problems as well, as enumerated in Problems faced by men. Though there have been a posting or two here and there about problems faced by men in the media as the link above is a collection some such reportings only, the society at large is fairly oblivious to problems faced by men. And more than being aware, what's more important, is the acceptance of the problem and the recognition of the need to address the problem and a collective effort to achieve the redressal. Inspite of men being instrumental in so many contributions, making so many sacrifices and facing so many problems, ain't it a fact that Men are Marvelous, who continue to live in a world of denial and delusion that it is a man's world and hence there is no need for men's rights. Men's rights are needed not only to address problems of men, but also to restore lost dignity of men, the dignity lost in protecting the respect for women. Men are Marvelous from one more fact that most of them do not realize the importance to fight for men's rights till they are hit below the belt or even after that. Men, continue to be a victim of LOOKING GOOD SYNDROME, and think that fighting for their own rights is demeaning, degrading, unbecoming and acceptance of weakness on their part. Almost none of the countries have special protection for men, but they do have it for women (over and above the regular protection available as a citizen of a country) and surprisingly men never fight for it as well. I think Men Are Really Marvelous not only for their contributions, sacrifices and problems but also for the courage and vigor to continue to carry on in life even though the society at large expects a lot from them and accepts them very little.
