While the incident of the scribe throwing a shoe at the Honorable Minister for Home Affairs, Mr. P. Chidambaram may be totally unrelated to men's rights issues per se, however, the psychological modalities are the same. What happened today with the Home Minister, was though condemnable as the action was derogatory, however, it reflected a very sorry state of affairs. It depicts the despicable state, Indian Democracy is in currently, wherein the Stupid Common Man, having no official channel at his disposal, to voice his concerns, resorts to legally/illegally outrageous measures to draw the attention of the Govt. authorities towards him, be it the politicians or the bureaucrats. And in that process, forgets/ignores the consequences of such actions, a clear depiction of the Baazigar Syndrome. Two days ago I wrote an article titled, "More and More Baazigars in formation" which talked about how men are taking to extreme means to vent their frustration at the meaty treatment meted out to them in marital life by their wives and society. And today this incident of a Sikh resorting to an exreme step, exasperated with the cornering meted out to them by the Congress Party, again depicts of the same Baazigar Syndrome being manifested. It would be pertinent to mention here that the condition of Indian men in general and Indian husbands in particular is also no less despicable. A glance at some numbers would reveal it all. 1. Every year 57,000 married men commit suicide in India, which 1.86 times the number of suicides by married women inspite of the so called, "Dowry Deaths" existing. 2. 123,497 mothers and sisters of men have been thrown into jails on a mere complaint under Section 498A by their estranged wives without trial or investigation. 3. 98% of the dowry cases are false and yet men are imprisoned in such cases without any trial, made vulnerable to losing jobs, forced to pay aristocratic alimonies and maintenances to their estranged wives, kept away from their children and blackmailed against meeting them or trying to access them. 4. Not granted divorces easily/comfortably. All in all, they have absolutely no rights but only responsibilities and yet they are told it's a man's world. I ask how? And Congress has been highly responsible for this infringement of men's rights with its anti-men and anti-family policies. Such extreme has been the cornering of men that fringe groups like Save Indian Family Foundation have come up. Such fringe groups do not mind talking the most politically incorrect statement since all they are speaking is truth, but since the power mongers are not bothered about truth based justice, they are ignored. However this does not deter the activists of such groups from campaigning against Congress in the elections. It's time the Congress realizes its follies and stops creating more enemies. And these enemies of Congress are created with the extreme cornering that it metes out due to its non-listening mode. Congress needs to realize that Cornering is a dangerous phenomenon. It leads to deep psychological scars which generates colossal energy transforming the cornered individual into a Baazigar. More and more such fringe groups are going to be formed if Congress is voted to power again. Hence this election, "Vote for any party, but do not vote for Congress".
