Marriage – A Crime for Indian Men PDF Print E-mail

Sounds like a radical statement, but as they say Truth is Stranger than Fiction, this statement is also unfortunately true. Marriage in India has actually become a crime for Indian men. It gives them only responsibilities and no rights. And if the marriage breaks, hell breaks loose on the man, for the marriage may break due to any reason but the man is made to pay the price and that too, the price is too heavy.

I cannot help but quote here 3 cases in brief, here.

Case 1: The man marries a poor woman with the view to help a poor woman and thus marries the daughter of a bus conductor, though he himself is a techie. Not knowing that he had been duped, he came to know of it only when he contracted sexually transmitted disease and then came to know that his wife had slept around with the town prior to marriage and also had abortions. Notwithstanding the fraud committed on him, he protested against this and ended up with a false dowry case on him.

Case 2: The man gets married to a girl through an arranged marriage. On the wedding night, wife refuses to have sex with her husband since she says her parents have married her forcefully whereas she wanted to marry someone else. He allows her to go with that person and calls for nullifying the marriage as it was done with fraud. However, her parents do not agree and force him to keep their daughter. Finally he files a divorce case, but now for 2 years the case is dragging and he is just running around the courts for a crime he did not commit.

Case 3: The man marries a girl through arranged marriage. 2 months after the marriage the girl goes to visit her parents as part of marriage rituals and then refuses to return back till the man agrees to abandon his parents. The man refuses to do so and lands up with one dowry case, 2 maintenance cases and one divorce case.

While in case 1 and 3 the husbands give back a tough fight and in turn become activists and set an example for other men facing similar problems, in case 2, the man is frustrated as he thinks, since he is not able to get divorce and not able to remarry.

The system is so rotten that it registers the cases at hare's pace and drags through them at snail's pace, completely ignoring the fact that if it is a false case and is wasting the man's youth in case he wants to get re-married which is not a bad thought. It's another issue that power mongers and agents of Legal Terrorism, have made it a crime for Indian Men by treating men as FREE ATM MACHINES sidelining their problems totally and considering killing men as a social service.

Hence men who are facing abuse in marriages can make it even only by becoming an activist otherwise the system will suck the blood out of them.

An appeal to Indian Men:
Stop marrying if you at all love your parents and siblings as your marriage can become a road
to hell for them....

Ofcourse with their lives having no hope for future, they will learn to fight someday and will be
able to defeat their abusers ... Many will give up or will be killed by these abusers on the way, but the rest will
learn to raise their voice against injustice and cruelty ......

We will gather our lives back ..... like a Phoenix
which rises from its ashes ......

Men’s Rights – Perspiration or Inspiration?

As I think about the today's theme - it reminds me of Thomas Edison, the man who invented the electric bulb. He had made a famous statement "Things are 99% perspiration, 1% inspiration"

Same applies to men's rights movement as well. It is a matter of constant awareness campaign and hitting at our opponents and proponents of male abuse. Contrary to popular belief, it is 3 times easier to abuse a male than a female because males have no support structure and male abuse is accepted by the society as social service.

Follow Yourself; Not Tradition

As I have repeatedly mentioned in my articles that cultures have deceived men, acting as vultures. Men have been used as the FREE ATM MACHINE, the UNPAID BODYGUARD, the de-facto PROTECTOR and PROVIDER, etc. by cultures and in the process have been reduced to disposable entities. Their abuse is considered a social service now.

And men, the way they are, are in a great way responsible for this. They rarely challenge or question conventions, traditions, histrionics and stereotypes thrust upon them. They do not feel the need to fight for their rights - only a handful of them are doing though scores are getting victimized. They do not demand for their space in the society and accept things as offered to them.

To this effect, today I take the example of Skandagupta - the great emperor of India. His stepmother has him sent to Ujjain so that her son can be made the emperor. He obeys her. But then the Huns attack India under the leadership of Attila the Hun. The army of Skandagupta calls him back as they needed his expertise.
