When a wife complains about her husband in the media, it immediately becomes breaking news and all news channels flash it across. The media never feels the need to consult the husband for the same or to verify the allegations made by the wife on the husband. But it is not the same when it is other way round, i.e. when husband complains about wife or reports harassment at the hands of wife. First of all the media never covers it unless it is highly sensational news or the abuse has really crossed all limits. Even if it does, it always wants the wife's version to be incorporated. And at times it does not showcase the story without getting the wife's version. When it is the man's turn to talk about his grievances, suddenly, One Sidedness and the Unverified Story Syndrome come into picture, however the same never comes into picture when a wife makes a complaint. This open gender bias and discrimination against men is the biggest motivating factor for male abuse and married men's abysmally high and skyrocketing suicide rates. Whether it's an alleging wife, who abuses her husband with cock and bull stories on the media or an alleged wife who has harassed the husband and in-laws, it's the men who are always at the receiving end. Feminists cry for Gender Equality, I agree with them. Women have been given so much of protection and pampering that they have now gone berserk and thus either we need to curtail their rights or give men their due rights to achieve true Gender Equality. Very recently Sahara Samay (a news channel) had approached a prominent men's rights organization to cover the story of a husband who has filed a case for dowry giving on his wife and in-laws who have openly admitted to giving dowry to him in a false case of dowry harassment lodged against the man. As dowry giving is also an equal crime, the husband filed a dowry case for "Giving Dowry' on his wife and in-laws. As the case was a very rare of its kind, very few such cases having been lodged, Sahara Samay thought it will get them good TRPs and so they wanted to do the show. The interview was arranged, the husband, his old mother, a men's rights activist and the husband's lawyer gave the interview. The channel people also gave a time for telecast. However, hours before the telecast was supposed to be aired, the show was put on hold as they found the story to be one sided. Well, when they had approached the organization to do the case, were they not aware that they are going to interview only the husband. Moreover, they had never asked any details of the wife from the husband. Then why, all of a sudden they changed colors? Reason is very simple. The societal bias that exists against men and prevents them from voicing their grievances freely was at play. The society loves to see its men suffering and yet projecting them in bad light and hence the title - Either ways, men are at the receiving end.
