That crime against men are grossly under-reported in the media, is a fact since National Crime Records Bureau says 92 % of crimes are Crimes Against Men, yet the media is filled with horrific stories of crime against women which consists of merely 6.38% of the total crimes. However, there is one more dangerous aspect related to crime against men when it comes to reporting. That aspect pertains to the judgmental syndrome reflected in the choice of language chosen to portray the incident of crime against men. The entire crime is presented as if the crime that has happened was the only outcome possible of the entire scenario and the ‘victim' man who has been at the receiving end of the crime is projected as a criminal. Wives's murdering their husbands has become a fashion these days. But a gruesome aspect of truth is the way these murders are projected in the media reportings. First of all, the husband is shown as an ‘Abusive and Alcoholic' husband on a de-facto basis. And that de-facto assumption is used to ‘justify' the gruesome and cold-blooded murder. To add to further to it, instead of condemning the wife for the gruesome act, CAB (cock and bull) stories are written about the ‘alleged and assumed' torture the wife underwent before murdering the husband. Furthermore, since the man is already dead, there is no way the allegations can be corroborated and statements from the cold blooded murderer wife are taken as GOSPEL TRUTH. In its over-enthusiastic bid to pamper women, media is forgetting that the wife has cold-bloodedly murdered the husband and justifying such a murder based on the statements of the murderer wife is nothing less than BETRAYAL OF JUSTICE. Conversely, when there is a report of a wife being murdered by the husband, the husband is always projected as a torturous aggressor and the wife is an innocent, gullible and docile victim. Now when feminists and women Pamperers are talking of so called, "Gender Equality", why is the same concept not applied in case of crime reportings, condemnation of crimes committed by women, responsibility, punishment and portrayal of abuse against men and women? Equality is not a luxury that you wear it when your mood is good and shed it off if the mood is bad. Equality is a fundamental right and every citizen (whether male or female) has a right to equality which applies to all spheres of life. Fundamental rights are for everyone or they are for none. There can never be a selective distribution of Fundamental Rights based on the whims and fancies of vested interests. Such open and visible bias and discrimination against men and unleashing of male hatred is, by no stretch of imagination, either Gender Equality or Women Empowerment. When crimes against men are openly justified by projecting their murderer wives as LIBERATED VICTIMS justice is openly murdered in broad day light, men's rights movement is the call of the day because Justification of crime is a Betrayal of Justice and that cannot be tolerated. Crime is crime and punishment has to be irrespective of gender, caste and creed. Merely a perception of weak gender and a presumption of over-propagated victimhood can never become the basis of reduced punishment for crimes. Crime can never be justified; otherwise every criminal should be let off free since no one commits crime sans compulsion or without reason. If alleged and assumed torture can be used to justify crimes done by women, then why are men kept devoid of this luxury? This is Gender Bias and Gender Equality is needed here also. Hence it is a choice with the society and the media as well - It can either equate punishment for crime or liberty to commit crime for both the genders.
