"Too much audio-visual input jeopardizes our cognitive abilities." A saying which truly gels with today's realities. Because of a negative historical representation of men compounded with extra pampering of women, men have always been projected wrongly and women have always been projected as victims. Even cases where the woman has been the instigator the man has been held responsible.
Due to this, men have been discouraged from sharing their problems and women are over-encouraged to create problems. And it works for men at extremes. Women file false allegations against men and when men try to talk about their abuse, they are again threatened with false allegations.
For example, today I came across a case where a 12 year old boy was ‘raped' by a 22 year old woman. The woman had forced sex with the 12 year old boy and boy could not utter a word due to the social mindset which I call as Victim Women Criminal Men Syndrome. The boy thought no one would believe him and he kept quiet and is leading a life of depression. His silence was due to the emotional castration that men are subjected to since the age of 6.
And one more story was of a female who used to hate men because of her parent's divorce and she held her father responsible for that. However, the truth was that her mother was forcefully married by her parents and when she could not make it in the marriage, broke it at will. And her father kept trying to save the marriage and finally lost it. However, the female was never told about this by her mother until her own relationships started failing.
Abuse by women is accepted by the society as Women Empowerment whereas prevention of abuse by men is taken as violence and they are penalized under that assumption. Violence against women has become a real myth whereas violence against men has become a mythical reality.
For instance, take the story of the above female; she was living under an assumption that her father ruined her mother's life (whereas reality was 180 degrees opposite) and used to abuse men the whole of her life. And created a negative image of men wherever she went while the other female, she had sex with a child to satiate her lust and went off scot free. All this could happen only because society does not challenge women with the ease it challenges men.
As a result, violence against women, though a real myth is believed by the society whereas violence against men, though a reality is mythical for the society to believe and passes it off an either a one off incident or holds the man responsible for being a victim. And this mindset is a result of centuries old hardwiring and unless men do not stand up for their rights, there is no respite for them.
They will continue to suffer under the burden of Mythical Realities and Real Myths. It is a choice for them as to what do they see as their future.
