A law student by the name of Kushal Asawa, has conducted a study on the filing of false cases of dowry harassment and domestic violence by wives on their husbands and their families in order to extort money from the husband and his family legally.

This rising trend, aptly named by the Honorable Supreme Court of India as "Legal Terrorism", has been captured elaborately in the report.

Hi,
1 . I have been through the stress & fear of 498 as nothing is been looked into, however Police action is taken
without any checks. Laws are bias and misused. I have been lucky that my wife could not play dirty game with me and my
family.
2. During divorce men have to pay maintainance & are liable for childs upbringing, however why is custody not
given to men ? We talk about equality, however women try to take as much maintainance as possible after spoiling a mans
life. Why are her parents not penalised for improper upbringing which too can be one of the reason for a mans suffering
?
3. When we talk about equality, why are rules & laws in favour of women ?
4. What we need is equality ?
5. After
demanding huge maintainance, few women get married with another man ? Whey is that women not penalised then as the
maintainance that she had taken was not to get remarried, but to let her live her life independently. In such cases,
women should be heavely penalised.

Raj, you have talked about maintenance. Why should there be maintenance for women in the first place? If so, then men
also should be allowed to seek maintenance from their wives. That is equality.

Men’s Rights – Perspiration or Inspiration?

As I think about the today's theme - it reminds me of Thomas Edison, the man who invented the electric bulb. He had made a famous statement "Things are 99% perspiration, 1% inspiration"

Same applies to men's rights movement as well. It is a matter of constant awareness campaign and hitting at our opponents and proponents of male abuse. Contrary to popular belief, it is 3 times easier to abuse a male than a female because males have no support structure and male abuse is accepted by the society as social service.

Follow Yourself; Not Tradition

As I have repeatedly mentioned in my articles that cultures have deceived men, acting as vultures. Men have been used as the FREE ATM MACHINE, the UNPAID BODYGUARD, the de-facto PROTECTOR and PROVIDER, etc. by cultures and in the process have been reduced to disposable entities. Their abuse is considered a social service now.

And men, the way they are, are in a great way responsible for this. They rarely challenge or question conventions, traditions, histrionics and stereotypes thrust upon them. They do not feel the need to fight for their rights - only a handful of them are doing though scores are getting victimized. They do not demand for their space in the society and accept things as offered to them.

To this effect, today I take the example of Skandagupta - the great emperor of India. His stepmother has him sent to Ujjain so that her son can be made the emperor. He obeys her. But then the Huns attack India under the leadership of Attila the Hun. The army of Skandagupta calls him back as they needed his expertise.
